Energetic Vinyasa Yoga, Skilled Inversion Instruction, Safe Backbend Exploration, Solo Relaxation Time, Connection with Like-Minded Yogis & New Friends

Join Nicki & Dylan at Prana Del Mar for a week of invigorating vinyasa yoga. We will incorporate our favorite movements, inversions, arm balances & backbends into each led morning practice, and offer space for self practice exploration each afternoon. By day, we will soak in the sun by the ocean, and enjoy delicious organic food & optional libations each night. We are thrilled to bring our friends from around the world together, create new relationships and help reignite your love for the practice!

Although our practices are independent, we create spontaneous communities as our yoga paths cross. We thrive off one another's energy & support on our journeys towards justice, peace & equality.

Through the physical practice, Nicki & Dylan have gathered a wealth of knowledge and developed friendships across the globe. This retreat will reinvigorate your physical practice while promoting new relationships from around the world.

As a native Californian, Nicki couldn't be happier to be a part of the original team to open and teach at Commune Yoga in her home state.

Her classes are a blend of fluid movement, unique mobility, and fiery strength. She aims to keep things interesting & believes that we humans are far more capable than we often given ourselves credit for. Her signature giggle might show up at some point in class as she highly encourages a sense of lightness & grace in tricky transitions.

After 200 hours of vinyasa training in 2014, Nicki hasn't left her mat much, continuing education hours with Patrick Beach, Carling Harps, David Regelin, Simon Park, and Meghan Currie to name a few. She grew accustomed to teaching to large class sizes & workshops while living in Nashville, where she helped manage one of the busiest studios in town, then switched things up for island life to teach small groups and private sessions while living on Maui last year. Now based in sunny Southern Cal, Nicki remains dedicated to her full-time craft, and is excited for continued exploration in each new opportunity.

In 2009, I attended my first yoga class at the University of Denver with some fraternity brothers. As the others quickly stopped going, I kept yoga in my back pocket as a good balance for the workouts and general physical upkeep from a life ice hockey, skiing, and the typical stupidity of a young man.

In late 2012, I first began to explore yoga as more than just a workout. I was working in the music business, overly stressed, and generally unhappy. As I began to explore new life for my worn down muscles and joints, and attack some of the pains I’d built up over the years, I discovered ways to deal more mindfully with my stress and other repressed emotions.

My passion for yoga eventually drove me to leave the music industry. In February 2014, I had the pleasure of spending a month at Asheville Yoga Center, where I began initial teacher training. While I wouldn't confine my vinyasa style into a singular category, it is influenced by my background as a student of prana vinyasa, Ashtanga and Rocket Yoga, dabblings in yin and restorative, and the creative sequencings of my most appreciated teachers. My classes will give students space to invite, create, and unite their intentions to their daily practices.

I am a Nashville native, passionate music fan, reader of endless books, University of Alabama football fan, and happy to live this life that has taken me from Nashville to Colorado, to Maui and now Los Angeles where I teach and manage at Commune Yoga.

Prana del Mar is located near the southern tip of the Baja peninsula, just north of Cabo San Lucas.

We are about 15 minutes outside of town on a remote stretch of beach on the Pacific Ocean, well away from the beaten path.

You will fly into the San Jose del Cabo International airport, sometimes also called Los Cabos Airport (SJD).

We will arrange private shuttles for our guests upon arrival and departure. We recommend arriving on the morning or early afternoon of the 6th and will finish in the early afternoon on the 11th. Shuttles are only included for guests arriving and departing on the 6th and the 11th.

Check-in is at 3pm and check-out is at 11am, although they will do their best to accommodate alternate travel schedules.

If you want to extend your stay before or afterwards, we are happy to help you arrange that as well!

Body: We believe in the magic that each unique body holds. We practice not only because it feels good, but also to challenge our comfort zones & explore new frontiers and possibilities. We embrace the safety & support of our community. From fluid movements to strength and mobility exploration directed by the subtle breath, each morning we will explore the physical practice together in a 2-3 hour led practice. We will workshop inversions, arm balances, transitions & backbends in ways that resonate in your own practice. Each afternoon, we will hold space for you to explore the movements learned in the morning, or work on anything you’d like as you develop a commitment to your personal practice. We will be present to assist & encourage you to make the practice your own!

Mind: The beautiful retreat center Prana Del Mar sits where the mountains meet the ocean. Our time there will encourage the reconciliation of mind to body - realigning the universe within. Our practices will offer intention-setting and meditation to give significance to our breath and movement. The lovely landscape offers sustainable gardens, walking paths & trails for contemplative strolling. You will have plenty of free time to embrace both the presence of others and the relationship to yourself. With little to no light or air pollution in these serene surroundings, your nightly rest (or mid-day naps!) will be refreshing & uninterrupted. The retreat includes 3 organic meals per day - nutritionally rich, vegetarian based with local seafood options. A well- fed body helps a mind find ease. We hope to offer a place of safety, security and peace of mind to step away from the worldly stresses & strains and connect with your truest Self.

Spirit: We hope that our week together is uplifting - that you discover new strengths within your practice both on & off your mat. Daily pranayama & conscious breathing will ignite a new lightness in your soul. Glide in the salt water pool, adventure to the beachfront or any available excursions to tap into what you need that day from relaxation to exploration that you may miss in your daily life. Enjoy a book (or 4), imbibe during a week of freedom. We want you to return to your friends, families & daily lives with a new assimilation of your Spirit.

It was amazing! I can’t believe it’s over already! I don’t want to go home! We did lots of meditation, yoga, soul dancing, and spending time in the hot tub. Seeing the culture and meeting the local people created such an amazing experience. I also loved volunteering at the dog shelter where we walked dogs through the rice fields. I expected something where I could grow, something I haven’t done before, and to meet new people and step out of my comfort zone. This experience actually exceeded these expectations. It turned into something much more than that. It wasn’t just a vacation, it was a whole soul searching experience as well. I wish I could take everyone here home with me but I can’t do that! So I’m going to take home with me the idea that you should always be pushing yourself and when something seems like a crazy idea or above your comfort level, just do it because you have no idea what’s on the other side and how much it’s going to make you grow. So just go for it!
— Lee Ann
The trip is beyond what I expected. I gained everything from a deeper sense of self to owning my authenticity. I feel like more of myself than I ever have before. Even if you feel like you’ve gone on ten yoga retreats in the past and you feel like you’ve absorbed it all, you can always be a student and learn something new and uncover more about yourself. With this retreat, I realized that there’s different versions of self-love. There’s so many layers and this was the layer of self-love that I really needed to hone in on.
