✦ ✦ ✦
Your retreat home is HOLISTIKA, located in the heart of Tulum's beach zone on the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula.

Flying into Cancún International Airport (CUN)
Cancún is the closest major international airport. From CUN, the drive to Tulum is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic.
We will arrange group shuttle transfers from Cancún Airport on arrival day (May 5) and departure day (May 9). Details on timing and meeting points will be sent via email before your trip.
If you prefer to make your own way, private transfer services and taxis are available at the airport. We recommend booking in advance for the best rates.
There is also the smaller Tulum International Airport (TQO) — if direct flights are available from your city, this can significantly shorten your ground transfer.
Your shuttle is included in the retreat price only on the first and last day. If you arrive earlier or plan to stay beyond the retreat, you'll be responsible for your own transportation. Let us know if you need help arranging it!
If you haven't already, please email us at hello@revampretreats.com with your flight details so we can coordinate your arrival and departure.
💡Pro tip: We highly recommend arriving by mid-day on May 5th. The retreat will conclude on May 9th by early afternoon. If your schedule allows, consider arriving a day early or staying a few days after to explore Tulum — there are incredible cenotes, Mayan ruins, and beach towns to discover.
Passport Requirements
Make sure your passport is valid for the duration of your stay and has at least two blank pages. No visa is needed for U.S. citizens staying under 180 days.
FMM (Tourist Card)
When you land, you'll receive a digital FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) at the airport — this is your official tourist permit. The fee is already included in your airline ticket, so there's no extra cost. Just keep a record of it (take a screenshot!) for when you leave Mexico, as your airline will ask for it at check-in for your departure flight.
Visitax — Don't Skip This!
Important: Because Tulum is in the state of Quintana Roo, all foreign tourists are required to pay a small tourism tax called Visitax (~283 MXN / ~$16 USD per person). This is not included in your airline ticket or hotel booking — it must be paid separately.
You can pay it online anytime before your departure at visitax.gob.mx — we strongly recommend doing it from your hotel WiFi the night before you fly home. You'll receive a QR code receipt to show at the airport. Enforcement at Cancún Airport has significantly increased in 2026, so please don't skip this! We'll send you a reminder closer to the date.
Only use the official site — there are many fake third-party sites that charge extra fees.
💡Pro tips: Make a photocopy or take a photo of your passport and email it to yourself as a backup. Always check the latest entry requirements specific to your nationality on official government or embassy websites before your trip.
Getting Ready for Your Trip
✦ ✦ ✦
We highly suggest you pack light and avoid bringing excess luggage. When choosing what clothes to pack, keep in mind that lightweight, quick-dry fabrics work best in Tulum's tropical climate. Keep valuables to an absolute minimum. Revamp Retreats is not responsible for any lost or stolen items including important paperwork such as passports. Think less is more!
💡Pro tips: We recommend a sturdy bag that's easy to push, pull, or carry. Rolling clothes instead of folding can work wonders in saving space. Bring your daypack as your flight carry-on — keep your valuables in it (passport, money, flight ticket, journal, book). We recommend you pack one set of clothes in your daypack should your suitcase get lost.

Tulum in early May is hot and humid, with average temperatures between 79°F and 95°F (26°C–35°C). Expect sunshine with occasional tropical rain showers.

Insurance
✦ ✦ ✦
Revamp Retreats does not cover the theft, loss, or damage of personal property and equipment of trip participants. We suggest you confirm with your insurance carrier that they would cover the costs if your items are stolen, lost, or damaged while on your trip.
We also highly recommend purchasing travel insurance from reputable companies such as InsureMyTrip or WorldNomads.
Currency & Tipping
✦ ✦ ✦
Currency: The Mexican currency is the Peso (MXN). Many places in Tulum accept US dollars, but you'll generally get a better rate paying in pesos. You can exchange money at the airport or withdraw cash from ATMs.
Tipping:
Restaurants: 15–20% tip is standard (check if it's already included on the bill)
Tour guides and drivers: $5–$10 USD perperson is appreciated
Spa/massage: 15–20% is customary
💡Pro tip: ATMs at the airport or in Tulum Pueblo tend to have better exchange rates than currency exchange booths. Just check with your bank about international withdrawal fees beforehand.
General Information About Tulum
✦ ✦ ✦
Tulum sits on the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula — a paradise known for its turquoise water, ancient Mayan ruins perched above the sea, and some of the most beautiful natural swimming holes (cenotes) in the world. It's a town that moves at its own pace, and we think you'll love the energy.
Safety
As with traveling to any destination, be mindful of your belongings in public places and keep a close watch on valuables. Leave anything non-essential at home — you really won't need it.
Drinking Water
Do not drink tap water in Mexico. Purified water will be available at the retreat property. Please bring a reusable water bottle and stay hydrated — especially with the heat!
Internet & Phone
WiFi is available at the property, but we encourage you to disconnect as much as possible. If you need phone service, consider getting an international plan or picking up a local SIM card at the airport.
Vaccinations
There are no vaccinations required to enter Mexico. Some travelers choose to be up to date on Hepatitis A and Typhoid as a precaution. Vaccines are a personal decision — consult your healthcare provider.
Wildlife & Bugs
You will encounter mosquitoes, especially in the evenings. Pack natural insect repellent and turn off lights at night to minimize bugs. The good news? You'll also see incredible wildlife — tropical birds, iguanas, and maybe even sea turtles.
Food & Dietary Needs
Enjoy healthy, locally sourced meals throughout the retreat. If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate your needs.

Be a Conscious Traveler
✦ ✦ ✦
Go with the flow: When traveling abroad, things might not always go your way. Flights may be delayed, luggage lost, languages misunderstood. It is all part of the adventure — try your best to be okay with whatever comes up and embrace it as part of the journey. Practice patience and find humor in unexpected situations.
Respect the culture: Do some research before you arrive. Respect the locals and their way of life (and the animals and wildlife!). Learning a few words of Spanish goes a long way — "por favor," "gracias," and "hola" will be greatly appreciated.
Keep an open mind: There is so much to learn from others who live differently than we do. Take the time to try new things and enjoy the local food and customs. Slow down, relax, and take it all in.
Have fun: This trip is for YOU — to relax and unwind, to dive in deep, to get to know yourself better, and to connect with others. Notice what comes up for you during the retreat. It may feel emotional, exciting, or difficult — whatever comes up, embrace it. The schedule will be full of activities, but also know when you need to take time alone to reflect, read, nap, or just do nothing. We are here for you on this journey.
We hope this gets you even more excited for the trip to come!
