PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS

U.S. citizens must have a valid passport to enter Costa Rica, along with proof of onward travel (such as a return ticket to the U.S. or a ticket to another country). Visitors can stay in Costa Rica for up to 90 days without a visa.

We recommend making a copy or taking a photo of your passport and emailing it to yourself for easy access.

Pro Tips:

  1. Make a photocopy or take a photo of your passport and email it to yourself so you have one on file as a backup

  2. Always check the latest entry requirements specific to your nationality and travel destination on official government or embassy websites before your trip

ARRIVAL PROCEDURES

Upon arrival in Costa Rica, you will first go through Immigration, where you will present your passport and any necessary travel documents. After clearing Immigration, you will proceed to baggage claim and then through Customs.

We will provide you with specific details on where to meet your group and a shuttle for transportation to the retreat center. Look out for an email with this information before your departure.

We highly recommend arriving by mid-day on the first day of the retreat. The retreat will conclude on the final day by early afternoon. If your schedule allows, consider arriving earlier or staying later to explore Costa Rica. There are plenty of boutique hotels and Airbnb options available for extended stays.

FLIGHT INFORMATION & GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Getting to Bodhi Tree in Nosara

There are two primary options for reaching Bodhi Tree Yoga Resort:

  1. Fly into Liberia International Airport (LIR):

  • Take a shuttle from LIR to Bodhi Tree (approximately 2-hour drive).

  • The road can be bumpy, so if you experience motion sickness, we suggest sitting in the front and bringing remedies such as ginger, peppermint oil, Dramamine, or motion sickness bands.

2. Fly into San Jose International Airport (SJO):

  • Take a domestic flight to Nosara (NOB) via Nature Air. These flights have limited seats (8 passengers max), so book early. We’re happy to assist with your flights! Group transfers will be arranged from Liberia Airport (LIR) and Nosara Airport (NOB).

Your shuttle is included in the retreat price only on the first and last day of the retreat. If you arrive earlier or plan to stay beyond the retreat, you’ll be responsible for your own transportation. et us know if you need help with arranging it!

GETTING READY FOR YOUR TRIP

We highly suggest you pack light and avoid bringing excess luggage. When choosing what clothes to pack, keep in mind that nylon or quick drying fabrics work very well. Keep valuables to an absolute minimum. Revamp Retreats is not responsible for any lost or stolen items including important paperwork such as passports. Think less is more!

Pro tips:

  1. We recommend a sturdy bag that’s easy to push, pull or carry. Rolling clothes instead of folding can wonders in saving space.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT COSTA RICA

Nosara: The Heart of Wellness & Nature

Nosara is a charming beach town known for its surf, yoga, and wellness lifestyle. The community is eco-conscious, and the beach remains undeveloped, maintaining pristine waters. It is also home to one of the world’s largest sea turtle nesting sites.

The local phrase you’ll hear often is “Pura Vida,” which embodies the Costa Rican way of life: simple, stress-free, and full of gratitude.

SAFETY

Last but not leaST, here are some ways to be a Conscious Traveler:

  • Go with the flow: When traveling abroad things might not always go your way.  Flights may be delayed, luggage lost, languages misunderstood.  It is all part of the adventure, try your best to be okay with whatever comes up and embrace it as part of the journey. Practice patience and find humor in unexpected situations.

  • Respect the culture: Do some research to where you are going before you arrive.  Respect the locals and their way of life (ALSO respect the animals and wildlife). It is also great to learn a few words before arriving- please, thank you, hello. It will be greatly appreciated by the locals.

  • Keep an open mind: There is so much to learn from others who live differently and do things differently than we do. Take the time to try new things and enjoy the local food and customs. Slow down, relax, and take it all in.

  • Have fun: This trip is for YOU… to relax and unwind, to dive in deep, to get to know yourself better, and to connect with others.  Notice what comes up for you during the retreat.  It may feel emotional, exciting, difficult… whatever comes up, embrace it.  The schedule will be full of activities but also know when you need to take time alone to reflect, read, nap, or just do nothing.  We are here for you on this journey and our mission is to spark passion and inspiration for your path and life purpose.  Let us know how we can support you.

We hope this fully prepares you for an exciting trip to come!

Namaste,

Revamp Team
